On the Action Junkeez Podcast, James explained that DQ stands for "Dairy Queen", as back when he played in home games the players called his bets too light due to his image of having dispensable income. To counter this, he took a five month hiatus and returned to the game telling everyone he worked at Dairy Queen in order to make the other players respect his bets. He never actually worked at Dairy Queen.
